Responsible Gambling Policy
Committed to a Safe and Entertaining Experience for Canadians
1. Our Commitment
At MapleOddsHub, we believe that sports betting should always be an enjoyable and entertaining experience. We are fully committed to promoting responsible gambling and providing our Canadian users with the tools, information, and support they need to maintain control over their betting activities. We strive to prevent underage gambling, protect vulnerable individuals, and foster a safe platform.
2. Protection of Minors
Gambling underage is illegal. MapleOddsHub strictly enforces age verification protocols to ensure that no one under the legal betting age in their respective province or territory can use our services.
- The legal age is 19+ in most Canadian provinces and territories (e.g., Ontario, BC, Nova Scotia).
- The legal age is 18+ in Alberta, Manitoba, and Quebec.
We use robust identity and age verification checks during the registration and withdrawal processes. If you share your computer with minors, we highly recommend using parental control software (such as NetNanny or CyberPatrol) to block access to gambling websites.
3. Player Protection Tools
To help you stay in control of your entertainment budget and time, MapleOddsHub offers several customizable account tools. You can access these within the 'Responsible Gaming' section of your account dashboard.
A. Deposit Limits
You can set daily, weekly, or monthly limits on the amount of money you can deposit into your account. Once a limit is reached, you will not be able to deposit further funds until the period expires. Requests to decrease your limit take effect immediately. Requests to increase a limit are subject to a mandatory 24-hour cooling-off period.
B. Loss Limits
Loss limits allow you to restrict the maximum amount of money you can lose over a specific period. This helps prevent "chasing losses" and keeps your spending within your predefined entertainment budget.
C. Session Time Limits
You can set a timer to monitor how long you spend logged into the platform. Once your time limit is reached, you will receive a pop-up notification reminding you of the time spent, and you can choose to log out or continue.
D. Time-Out (Cooling-Off Period)
If you need a short break from betting, you can apply a Time-Out to your account for a period of 24 hours, 48 hours, 7 days, or 30 days. During this time, you will not be able to log in, deposit, or place bets.
E. Self-Exclusion
If you feel your gambling is becoming a problem, we strongly urge you to use our Self-Exclusion tool. This will block your access to MapleOddsHub for a minimum period of 6 months up to a permanent ban. During a self-exclusion period, we will not send you any marketing materials, and your account cannot be reopened under any circumstances until the period expires.
4. Recognizing a Gambling Problem
Gambling should not be viewed as a way to make money or pay off debts. It is important to be honest with yourself about your betting habits. If you answer "yes" to several of the following questions, you may be experiencing gambling-related harm:
- Do you often gamble longer or spend more money than you originally planned?
- Do you borrow money, sell possessions, or use bill money to fund your gambling?
- Do you feel anxious, irritable, or restless when you try to cut down or stop gambling?
- Are you hiding the extent of your gambling from friends, family, or colleagues?
- Do you try to win back money you have lost (chasing losses)?
- Is gambling negatively affecting your work, studies, or personal relationships?
